Before Your First Visit
What to Expect & How to Prepare
Taking the first step toward holistic care can feel both hopeful and overwhelming. Our goal is to make your initial visit feel grounded, informative, and supportive for both you and your pet.
Here’s what you can expect and how to prepare so we can make the most of our time together.
What to Expect During Your Visit
-
A Thoughtful, Thorough Physical Exam
Your visit begins with a comprehensive physical examination to assess your pet’s overall health, comfort, and movement. We take time to observe the whole picture, not just isolated symptoms. -
Understanding What’s Happening Beneath the Surface
We’ll walk through how your pet’s body functions as a system, especially how nutrition, inflammation, and the gut influence long-term health. This is not a lecture, but a shared conversation designed to help you better understand what your pet may be experiencing. -
Clear Insight Into Your Pet’s Imbalances
Rather than overwhelming you with medical jargon, we explain what we’re seeing in a clear, compassionate way. We’ll connect patterns, history, and current concerns so you leave with a better understanding of why certain issues may be showing up. -
Planning the Path Forward
Before you leave, we’ll discuss key considerations and next steps, including dietary changes, supplements, therapies, or monitoring, always tailored specifically to your pet and your family.
How to Prepare for Your First Visit
A little preparation goes a long way in helping us support your pet effectively.
- Keep an open mind. Holistic care may introduce new perspectives or approaches that differ from what you’ve tried before.
- Write down your questions. Concerns, patterns you’ve noticed, or changes over time. Nothing is too small to mention.
- Complete the History / Intake Form in advance. This includes details about diet, supplements, exercise, timeline of symptoms, vaccinations, and prior treatments. The more complete the picture, the better we can help.
What Helps Our Clients
and Their Pets Most
We witness the most successful outcomes when pet parents:
- Set an intention. Be clear about what you’re hoping to improve or understand.
- Stay curious and willing. Healing is a process, and learning is part of it.
- Do research, but don’t carry the burden alone. Your curiosity is welcome; our role is to guide and support you.
- Release guilt or self-blame. This is a judgment-free space focused on helping your pet feel better, starting now.
